Margaret Billington, age 93, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Margaret was born December 28, 1921, in Flora to Frank Engelmeier Sr. and Ellen Elizabeth (Dunigan) Engelmeier.
She was employed by Andy’s Market for many years and was a member of Oak Street Southern Baptist Church. Margaret enjoyed time with her grandchildren and looked forward to Sunday morning church services at Flora Gardens Care Center.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Ellen (husband Terry) Gidcumb of Flora; grandson: Chad (wife Susan) King of Flora; great-grandson: Vince (wife Danielle) King of Xenia; brother: Harvey (wife Jean) Engelmeier of Flora; sister: Bernadine Landreth of Flora; sister-in-law: Dorothy Engelmeier of Flora; and nephew: Mike (wife Kris) Engelmeier of Flora. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Frank Engelmeier; and sister: Evelyn Engelmeier.
A funeral service for Margaret Billington will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Oak Street Southern Baptist Church. She was such a sweet lady. I worked with her for several years at Andy's Market. She was always so nice to me and we shared lots of laughs. Hugs to you all.

I am sorry I missed Margaret's visitation & funeral. I worked with Margaret about 18 years she was a loyal employee & friend.
Mary Ellen, Mike and Kris, Margaret was such a beautiful lady inside and out. She always had a smile on her face no matter what was going on. Man, she could really make great salads when she was working for Frank & Maxine Wood. I had the pleasure of working with her for several years. What a delight.
