Leslie Wayne "Slick" Thompson, age 45, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015, at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Leslie was born January 5, 1970, in Flora to Virgil W. Thompson and Pam (Robinson) Nichols. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion.
He is survived by his mother: Pam (Gene) Nichols of Flora; 2 sisters: Christina Thompson (Jason Cameron) of Talladega, AL, and Loretta (Lester) Hutchens of Flora; 2 step-sisters: Anna (Tony) Mattoon of Albion, IL and Kim (Don) Wheatley of Fort Worth, TX; nieces & nephews: Logan Hutchens, Marisa Broz, McKena Fox and Laken Hutchens and several step-nieces and nephews; grandmother: Elsie Robinson of Flora; and his best friends: Kevin “Pondo” Canady, Danny Lake, and several others. He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandfather: Don Robinson, and paternal grandmother: Joyce Gill.
A visitation for Leslie Thompson will be from 5- 7 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A private interment will be at Powers Cemetery, Xenia, at a later date. So sorry for your loss. He is no longer tormented by demons, rest in peace Slick. Have known Slick for years, he use to hang around the house on second street, with Danny and Pondo And my kids. At that time it seemed like everybody ended up I my house to either eat or sleep. :) The door was always open!
