Harriett Maxine Wieldt, age 97, of Flora, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Maxine was born April 21, 1917 in Louisville, Illinois, to Charles and Fern (Baker) Frye. She married Raymond Wieldt in 1936 in Flora. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1985. Maxine’s memberships included the First Christian Church of Flora, the Neon Sunday School Class and Circle 1 of the church, the R.S.V.P. program, the former Republican Women’s Club, and was a 50 year member of Clay County Home Extension.
She is survived by her son: Lowell (Martha) Wieldt of Atoka, OK; 5 grandchildren: Cynthia Jane (Jackie) Duncan, Vickie Rae (Ronnie) Butler, Rhonda Lea (Ron) McIninch, Penny Lou (Robert) Bourne, Lowell Lee (Christi) Wieldt Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren: Christopher (Francine) Duncan, Ryan Butler, Sarah Butler, Matthew McIninch, Timothy McIninch, Lynsi Bourne, Hannah Bourne, Shawn Wieldt, Heather Wieldt, and Jarrett Wieldt; 2 great-great-granddaughters: Harley J. Duncan and AdaLynn Grace Duncan; 1 brother: Gerald Frye of Florida; 1 sister-in-law: Mary Frye of Cisne; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece: JoAnn Stanford of Flora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandsons, 1 great-grandson, 3 brothers: Charles Robert Frye, Bill Frye, and an infant brother; and 1 sister: Hazel Akes.
A funeral service for Maxine Wieldt will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with visitation from 1 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Floral Garden of Memories Cemetery, Flora. Memorial donations may be given to First Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
