Its been years that I have been praying for your family.I will still pray for your Son and his family as I always have! You ought to see how long my prayer list is.

Leona was such a sweet and good lady - she will really be missed by so many.
Sorry to hear of your mothers passing
Ruthann and family, I'm so sorry for the passing of your Mom. I loved her and thought of her all the time. She and your Dad were the Youth leaders at church when I was young. I used to sing with them when I was just 12 years old at church and at special signings around the area. Your Mom came and got me on my 16th birthday and took me to get my drivers license. (My own Mom had passed away). She had a big station wagon that I had to drive for my driving test. I was scared to death to parallel park with it! The years and miles came between us, but I never once quit thinking of her and thanking God for such a Jesus servant example that she was to me. I will be praying for y'all during this season. Love, Pam
I was priveleged to know Allen and Leona and to be part of their church family. Wonderful people, great friends, and always had an encouraging word. You are in my prayers.
I know your sense of loss is great and painful and I send condolences and love to all of you. The emotions of sadness and joy seem conflicting, but those are the two I feel right now. Sadness that you won't be seeing your Mom's smiling face or hear her laughter. Joy that I know she is reunited with your Dad and seeing the face of Jesus and seeing that Heaven is everything she believed it to be, and more. She and your Dad were the truest and most sincere Christians I have ever known. They became "parents and teachers" to many, many children during their lives. I am blessed and fortunate to have been one of those many. They didn't just teach the works and words of God, they lived what they believed and taught. For those of us who grew up in a home that didn't attend church, the love and devotion and outreach from your Mom and Dad, Rev. Garnett Mitchell, Warren and Codean Baker, and many others from the Church of the Nazarene, brought us into the fold and taught and nurtured and loved us. My life was changed at an early age by all of them and I am a better person because of it. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Ruth Ann, Brian and families, So sorry at the loss of your mom. She was so sweet. She will be greatly missed.
I have such wonderful memories of Leona. She was a beautiful person inside and out. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family during this time.
I've known this beautiful lady since grade school. She and Allen were the best ever youth leaders. Because of them and their program, so many south end children were introduced to church and Jesus. They both helped me see the way to Jesus and eternal life. I have many happy memories being with them. Two favorites were when their children were born. Allen and Leona were beside themselves with joy. My sincere sympathies to the whole family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this time of loss. Your sweet mother will be missed by so many. I love Leona. God bless y'all.
My early memories of your Mom and Dad was when I was quite young and they sang in revivals at Golden Methodist Church where my family attended. Loved hearing Leona play the accordion! They were great friends and always fun to be around. Later when I married and we returned to Flora we began attending the Nazarene Church and got re-acquainted. So many memories of visits and great times with the family. Brian and Ruthann, they have left you with a legacy and fond memories to cherish. Praying for you and your families during this difficult time.
Ruthann, So sorry for your loss. May the warm memories and knowledge that she is with the angels in Heaven bring you peace and comfort.
Bryan & Ruthann (and families) You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this very difficult time. Hugs to you all
So sorry for your loss. I remember when I ran through the electric fence and went to your parents house, they didn't recognize me from the damage to my face. They took me to ER that night. She was a great den mother and person. So sorry!

Bryan & Ruthann - Your mother was a very fine Christian woman; one of the best. Of course, I don't have to tell you this; you already know. She will be missed by the many people who knew her and loved her. My sympathy to you and your families.
My condolences Ruthann. I recall being at your parents house long ago for a birthday party - maybe around 10 years old. Looking back your parents were classic, your mom very sweet and your dad a strong father. I had a blast that day, the pony rides, (and I'm sure your dad was running that) To doing what kids do best having fun.
So very sorry for your loss. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
Ruthann and Brian, your mom was a very special lady whom I'm so thankful to have known:) We will definitely miss her smiles and laughter, but I'm very thankful she is receiving her Heavenly reward and is with your dad again:) I can hear them singing now:)
I worked with Leona many years ago at International Shoe Co. She was a wonderful person. Condolence to the family.
