Ruby,

November 19th

So sorry to learn of your Mom passing. I know she is in a much better place with no worries or pain. Would be with you if Jerry was able. Very concerned with his health right now. I'll be thinking of you all and praying for peace and comfort for all. If I can be of help anyway, just let me know. Love to you and the family. Aunt Becky.

To the family of Ruby Eckles, I was very saddened to hear of Ruby's passing. I was 16 many years ago and had just started my 1st job at Dixies when I met Ruby & Don. Don sold me an old Chevy pickup and let me make payments on it. Ruby was so much like a grandmother to me even though she knew both my mother and grandmother. Us "boys" that worked with her were quite rotten and Ruby always kept us in line even though it wasn't her job. Ruby had a huge heart and one of those how can you not love personalities. I grew older and moved away from my small town roots but just happen to stop at McDonalds in Tuscola probably 3 years ago now not knowing who I was about to run into. Probably had been atleast 15 years since I had seen her. I ain't gonna lie she came around the counter and gave me a hug and I cried. When you had been where I'd been and to come back and see Ruby, a fixture from my child hood, was amazing. What a women, what a friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you, her family, her friends, and even the people she met maybe only once. Ruby Eckles was not a person you can forget very easily. She left an everlasting impression on so many. We were all grateful to have her in our lives in one way or another.

No matter where we saw Ruby, or what she was doing - she always had a big smile for us! She always made us feel like we were her favorite people - and I know that she treated everyone like that. Her attitude toward people never wavered - she loved everyone. She'll be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family.

Elizabeth & family - SO glad I stopped in to see your Mom the week before she passed away, I got my hug! She was always a bright spot in my life and she loved Victory Church! I'm sure she will stay busy in heaven giving hugs as people arrive. Too bad there aren't more people in this world today like her, would be a much better place. So glad she moved to Evergreen to be closer to you and the rest of your family. At least she is free of any discomfort she may have been having although when I would ask her if she was having any pain she would always tell me "no." She would always sign my birthday card "Your Sister in Christ," Love Ruby I hope Duane got down to see her that following Sunday, said he was going to try. With Deepest Sympathy, Doris Piercy (Duane's step-mom)

I started at Dixie when I was a teenager and Ruby was always so nice to me. Taught me a lot. Later as a manager there I learned to appreciate her even more. Always cheerful and dependable truly one of the better employees we had. I really enjoyed Don too, he used to crack me up with that Kentucky humor of his. I will be out of town at another funeral or I would surely be there. I will miss them both very much. May God bless them both.
