Loretta Lagle, age 73, of Flora, Illinois, formerly of Wayne County, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
Loretta was born May 3, 1942, in Wayne County, to Noble Henry and Bertha (Mitchell) Carter. She married Galen Hosselton in May of 1965. He preceded her in death in December of 1989. She later married James Lagle in September of 1992.
Loretta was an Alan Jackson fan and loved to watch the Saint Louis Cardinals baseball games. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy, as family meant everything to her. She was a wonderful cook, and many holiday meals were enjoyed at her home. Loretta was far more than a mother and grandmother; she was a best friend. No matter what the problem, she always made sure she was there for you, with understanding and unconditional love.
She is survived by her husband, James Lagle of Flora; daughter Angelia (Artdean) Warren of Flora; son Garold Hosselton of Flora; step-daughter DeAnn (Tony) Kesterson of Flora; step-son Wade (Christy) Lagle of Mahomet; grandchildren: Nikki Breeden and Devan Warren of Flora; step-grandchildren Kim Beland, Robert Kesterson, Bryant and Jarrett Lagle; sisters-in-law: Joyce Cook of Clay City and Jackie Morrison of Bethany, OK; brother-in-law: Ray (Francis) Hosselton of Louisville; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, mothers-and fathers-in-law: Fred and Alma Hosselton, and Mary and Turk Lagle; siblings: Billy Bob Carter, James (Elnor) Carter, Martha (Luther B.) Hosselton, Charles Carter, Lorraine Wilkerson, and Joe Carter; sister-in-law: Shirley Hosselton; brother-in-law: Carol (Nancy) Lagle, and nephew Larry Carter.
A funeral service for Loretta Lagle will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Zif Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to American Heart Association or Zif Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
