Laura P. Ray, age 82, of Casey, Illinois, and former longtime resident of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Heartland Manor in Casey.

   Laura was born April 23, 1933, in Flora to William and Laura D. (Gillespie) Welty.  She was married to Darrell Bullard of Effingham.  Laura later married Don Harrell who preceded her in death.  She then married Orceneth F. Ray who also preceded her in death.  She had been a member of Davenport Baptist Church.

   Laura is survived by her sister, Willma C. (husband James Kenneth) Murphy of Casey, along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her son: Gary Harrell, and 12 siblings: Mary McGrew, Dollie Daisey, John Welty, Elza Welty, Albert Welty, Fred Welty, Vaughn Welty, Lawrence Welty, Marjorie Welty Bailey, Mildred Welty Fox, Rosie Welty Malkin-Leff, and Permelia Welty Gragert.

   A funeral service for Laura Ray will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  A committal service will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Davenport Memorial Park in Davenport, Iowa, where interment will follow.  To share a condolence or memory with the family, please visit www.frankandbright.com.
