Ellarea Moseley, age 93, of Flora, Illinois, and formerly of Clay City, passed away Friday evening, October 21, 2016, at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was born June 8, 1923, in East St. Louis, the daughter of William and Mary (Patridge) Harrison.  She married Hubert C. Moseley on February 5, 1942, in Louisville.  He preceded her in death June 26, 1999.  She is also preceded in death by a son: Donnell Ray Moseley; siblings: Lowell Harrison, Lorena Hunley, Kenneth Harrison, Mabel Laughton, Willard Harrison, and an infant sister, Carolyn.

She is survived by a daughter: Cheryl Headlee (husband Dennis) of Xenia; a daughter-in-law: Margaret Moseley of Springfield; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren: Stephanie Moseley of Taylorville; Danielle Hayes (husband Jeff) of Logansport, Indiana, and their children: Hadassah, Moriah, Elijah, Micaiah, Hannah, and Jeremiah; Kristen Lenee Lucas (husband Blake) of Springfield and their children: Roslyn and Leo; Joshua Headlee (wife Amanda) of Logansville, Georgia; and Angela Feldhake (husband Patrick) of Mascoutah and their children: Elan and Averie; a brother: Carmen Harrison of Olney; as well as a brother-in-law: Charles Moseley (wife Louise) of Eldorado; and many nieces and nephews.

Ellarea worked alongside Hubert for many years on their farm south of Clay City, raising a family, and genuinely living a Christian life.  She lovingly cared for her children and later her grandchildren, often taking the time to come outdoors and play with them when she wasn’t busy cooking meals and baking the very best pies, sewing, and helping others.  She enjoyed camping and traveling, and worked for a time at J.C. Penney.  She had been an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on the board.

A funeral service for Ellarea Moseley will be 11 a.m . Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Jill Bunker officiating.  Interment will follow in Clay City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be given for the benefit of the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory with the family, visit www.frankandbright.com.
