Robert F. Koehler, age 93, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, January 24, 2017, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.
Bob was born December 2, 1923, in Clay City, the son of John F. and Blanche (Jones) Koehler. He first married Rosie Brown and later married Anita L. Smith on March 27, 1965, in Wayne County. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2002. He then married Lois (Headlee) Patridge Sharp who preceded him in death on February 17, 2011.
Bob was an electrician, operating Koehler Electric Services, and also farmed. He served his country overseas during World War II in the Army Air Corps and had attended the Clay City United Methodist Church. Bob was a lifelong learner and enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing.
He is survived by his sons: Robert L. (Lynda) Koehler of Flora, Ronald E. (Sue) Hamilton of Effingham, Steven E. (Janet) Hamilton of Newburgh, IN, and John (Chris) Koehler of Marshall; daughter-in-law: Sandra Hamilton of Champaign; one sister: Faye Koertge; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives: Anita and Lois; a son: Terrence L. Hamilton; a great-granddaughter: Andrea Weiler; a brother: Kenneth Koehler; and a sister: Idarea Werner.
A funeral service for Bob Koehler will be 3 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, with Pastor Bruce Horsley officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, with military honors. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Bob’s memory are suggested to be given to Pat Cooper for the benefit of local veterans.

We are sorry for your loss. Bob and Anita were a part of our church family for many years at First Baptist Church in Flora. They were a special couple and we thought so much of them. They are now together again ❤ RIP Bob

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Koehler was a wonderful ,Godly man. He and Anita were role models for us when we were young and I will always have fond memories of them. I look forward to worshipping with them again in heaven.

Bob was my neighbor for several years when I was young. I just to ride my bike to Hayes house play in the treehouse in front of his house. Him and Anita would always give me butterscotch candy one year for Christmas they bought me an Army jeep in a box filled with butterscotch candies. They were both such amazing people. I got the opportunity to see him few years ago at Walmart was able to speak to him and he remembered exactly who I was we stood there in a nest for a few minutes so amazing man my condolences to his family. He will be deeply missed

We offer our sincerest condolences . Bob made an indelible impression on me early on as a very kind, considerate and loving man. I will surely miss him. We are on the west coast and must apologize for our inability to attend the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ruthie and I extend our deepest condolences. Bob was a true gentleman, and we enjoyed playing pinochle with him a few years ago. We saw him last at the nursing home, and made sure he got a nice gift from the "American Legion Gifts to the Yanks" program. Steve Welty
