I have so many great memories of Rick, as we were neighbors of his parents on Friendship Farm Road in East Moline. I met him about the time he graduated high school. He and my first husband became fast friends, and he and Rick spent many hours together working on cars. Rick was so much fun, always had a smile and a good word for every situation. I loved him like a brother, and will always remember his kindness to me in the most difficult times of my life. I know he will be greatly missed by all who loved him and whom he loved in return.

Tara I wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of Rick's passing. He fought hard for so long. You were right there with him the whole time with loving support. I am in Florida so I won't be able to attend the services. You are in my prayers.
Words cannot express the sadness felt by his passing. He was a wonderful man and always made everyone smile. He talked to his brother everyday and I had the joy of being included in the jokes and laughter they shared. Those calls will put a deep void in our day. He will be so very much missed by all who knew him. I enjoyed vacations with Rick and Tara and those memories will be treasured for sure! It sure was painful seeing and hearing of his life fading away and knowing he was in pain, so God thank you for ending that and taking him home to heaven where his pain is no more! Rick will remain alive with us each and every day through beautiful memories! Rick was like a brother in law to me and Tara and a sister and friend. We love you with all our heart Rick and Tara! Sincerely Vickie VanderBeke and Jerry Race
