Graveside Service: 12 noon, Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Floral Garden of Memories Cemetery in Flora
Wanda Mae Belcher, age 92, of Marion, Illinois, formerly of Flora, passed away Saturday morning, April 8, 2017, at her home in Fifth Season Residential in Marion.
She was born July 29, 1924, in Clay County, the daughter of Bernice and Eunice (Darr) Misenhimer. She was united in marriage to Wendell Eugene Belcher on July 28, 1954, in Marion County, and he preceded her in death December 16, 1991.
Wanda fondly reminisced the memories of her early life helping on the family farm. She took a job as a telephone operator in Flora, and later worked in the office at Clay County Hospital. She also was employed by Chaney’s Cleaners in Flora and Speigel’s in Centralia. She was a 50-year member of the Rebekah’s and had attended the Flora Church of God.
She is survived by 2 granddaughters: DeAnna (husband Bradley) Herzog and Lori Howell, both of Marion; 5 great-grandchildren: Joey (wife Katie) Groves, Megan Groves, Katy Groves, Bo Harris, and Landon Howell, all of Marion; a brother: Dios Misenhimer of Flora; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son: Bobbie Ray Belcher; 2 brothers including Bud (wife Shirley) Misenhimer; a sister; and a sister-in-law: Louise Misenhimer.
A graveside service for Wanda Belcher will be held 12 noon Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Floral Garden of Memories Cemetery in Flora. Please come directly to the cemetery if you are attending. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. We are so sad to hear about Wanda's passing she was the most sweetest person we loved her so much she was our neighbor next door who shared many things with us she was a part of our family we have missed her so much sence she moved and have thought of her a lot may she rest in peace Wanda we love you
I am so sorry to hear of Wanda's passing. She was a very dear friend of mine whom I just talked to 2 days ago. My prayers are for her family whom she loved dearly. I will miss my friend, but I realize her time had come, and she was tired . She was a fine lady who enjoyed her life and always stood tall no matter what. Rest in Peace, Wanda. I will never forget you.
Wanda was one of the sweetest ladies their ever was, Her and Windell were both great people and made a wonderful couple. Rest in piece you had your wings long ago. Loved you dearly.
Wanda was a Theta Rho advisor for many years and I transitioned to Rebekahs she was a great source of encouragement. Loved her and her heart.
Wanda and I along with Ruth Krutsinger attened Rebekah Assembly in Springfield. On our way up there we stopped at a McDonalds for breakfast. We came out and got in the car, Wanda was driving, and was on our merry way.Pretty soon we heard band music and people standing along the street. We had gotten in the parade somehow. Wanda was a very dear friend to me and my family. She will be missed greatly.
I met Wanda a few years back, when we were taking painting classes together, such a sweet lady,always smiling,if you were in a bad mood and saw her she would put you in a good mood again, Rest in peace
Wanda always had a smile and was a wonderful mentor with Mrs. Price years ago In Theta Rho. She was fun to be around. Positive person, very sweet.
We have known Wanda for many years. She was a wonderful person and a joy to be around. My parents were friends with her and Windell. Rest in peace Wanda.
We were so sorry to hear of Wanda's passing. She was a wonderful neighbor and we missed her when she moved to Marion. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
I will miss you Aunt Mae. What I will remember most about you was your beautiful smile (that you always wore), the sound of your laughter, and your love of family. Perseverance and consistency was your middle name. Thank you for being such an inspirational person in my life.

Such fond memories of this lady : ) So glad I got to grow up in a country neighborhood where the door was always open or a chair under the shade tree called you to sit and talk awhile. Our sincere sympathies for the loss of your Grandmother, God bless.

Wanda was a kind woman and a good friend. It was our privilege to know her. She will be remembered and missed.
Wanda will be missed at her home, Fifth Season Residential. We all loved her and I certainly enjoyed hearing her stories about growing up and working on the farm. She was a special person. I'm happy she is breathing easy now, at home with Jesus.
I got to know Wanda from Herrin Hospital where I work as a shuttle driver. She is a wonderful person and I will miss her very much. We talked about so much. Her family was the most important thing to her. I know she is with god now and I will meet her again someday. Rest in pease Wanda. To the family, please except my condolences for the lose of Wanda.

Many people in the church (Flora First Church of God) I now pastor remark on how wonderful a person Wanda was. She had been a part of this church for many years. Wish I had be blessed with her in the congregation . Wishing the family a blessing as they remember the time they spent with her. God bless you, her friends and family.

Just found out my Aunt Wanda passed away in April, so sadden that her one and only Sister in law Nellie Fern "Belcher" Bassett was not told of her passing . Wanda called Nellie when she got home from hospital April 8 2017. That's the last she had heard anything. Rest in peace Aunt Wanda, sorry for your loss granddaughters and your families.
