Buelah G. Rapp, age 91, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at her home in Flora.
Buelah was born October 3, 1925, in Clay County, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Barr) Goad. She married Bill Rapp on December 21, 1946, in Morganfield, Kentucky, and together they shared 62 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2009.
Buelah worked for several stores in Flora over the years where she enjoyed visiting and working with the public. She was a member and past president of Flora VFW Post #3999 Auxiliary, and a member of Flora American Legion Post #14 Auxiliary. Buelah’s great grandchildren brought her joy and she looked forward to and enjoyed going on rides in the country.
She is survived by her daughter: Judy Beard of Flora; 2 grandchildren: Randy Beard (Michelle Wilkins) of Louisville and Staci Houston of Flora; 3 great-grandchildren: Taylor Harmon (Dylan Shroyer), Miayah Houston, and Ethan Houston; 2 brothers-in-law: Mark Powless of Xenia and Maurice (Paula) Rapp of Charlotte, NC; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son: Daniel; 1 brother: Harry Goad Jr.; and 2 sisters: Opal Powless and Norene Sessions.
A funeral service for Buelah Rapp will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Xenia. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Buelah’s memory may be given to Clay County Home Health or St. Louis Shriner’s Hospital and these will be accepted at the funeral home.

Dear Judy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am thankful that Mom and I were able to visit with you and Buelah while I was home in April. Even though it was not the best circumstances (in the doctor's office), it was good to visit and laugh together. I will always remember your Mom for introducing me to pizza..many years ago! My love and prayers are with you all at this time.

I worked with Buelah many, many years ago when I was in high school. She was such a fun-loving lady with a wonderful laugh. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Another star is shining brightly. My condolences to all of the family. Beulah was my favorite sitter when I was growing up.
I loved Buelah's smile. I shared many of laughs with this special lady when she worked at the Dollar General. Buelah was always smiling.
My dear friend, Judy. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I remember fondly those mornings when I would stop by your house so we could walk to school together. Beulah was always so cheerful, even early in the morning, and those memories are etched in my mind forever. Prayers for you.

I have such fond memories of Beulah, from mowing her yard to eating her home made Divinity. Even as a little girl she would invite me into the kitchen and make sure she offered me a drink. She is a special lady and always remembered in my heart.
I will miss our phone calls and the friendship that we had had for over 50 years. Shared many laughs together. Always a thought away and in my heart.
