Cindy, Chris and Families: I'm so very sorry for your loss. I've known your mother since 1967 from when my mom worked with her at CCH...always heard such good things about her. In 1970, I worked in the office at CCH and got to know her. She was so much fun! Cindy, not only do you look like her, you are so similar to her in personality. Please know that y'all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. RIP Arlene❣️

Thoughts and prayers for family, friends, and acquaintances.
I will never forget Arlene taking me under her wing when I was a new nurse and teaching me all about birthing babies. Rest In Peace my friend
Arlene was a great nurse in OB! I will never forget how helpful and understanding she was.
It's like losing a member of my family. I don't have a memory on 7th street that Arlene and you girls are not in. I have lots of memories of her and mom always crafting something, taking some kind of class and cooking with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths! What fun they had. I can only imagine what the two of them are cooking up now! Take time to cry, it's ok, the time will come when memories will bring smiles instead of tears. You both are in my prayers.
Chris and Cindy, Our sincere condolences for the loss of your mother and to your families also. We only learned a short while ago that your mom had been afflicted with the family curse of Alzheimers and thought what an irony since she had cared for so many with the same disease. We know she is in a better place now but also know she will be missed by many. Thinking about her this morning, it struck me that she is one of those people who are there at certain important times in our lives and made a difference. She was working at Clay County Hospital when Penny was born in the middle of the night and came in that morning and took one look at her and said "that is one of mine". We will never forget how she was there for us when we brought our "Dorothy" and Lawrence back to Texas to care for them at home. We had moved them to Illinois to be under her care in a nursing home but decided later we needed them back with us and we could not have moved her and cared for her if it weren't for your Mom. She not only helped with the move but was there many times when we called with this question or that about the personal care particularly of Dorothy who also had Alzheimers. And for that matter, we would call your grandmother to ask her this question or that about Dorothy's childhood when she would have a moment of clarity and talk to us. Your mom was down to earth and practical in her nursing teaching and was of so much calm help when caregiver panic was about to set in. And that mannerism was a tremendous influence in future career choices that were made and how those choices have been managed. We will be forever grateful to her. She made a difference. May she rest in peace.
Cindy. You! Are your mom! Over and over! What a lady she was! More than a nurse! Out standing person! One if a kind! I remember her at the nursing home! Sitting beside donna! Smokes in there mouths. Doing paper work. Hard at it. What a pair they was! Good people! You was blessed to have such a great mom! Thinking about you!
