Imogene Ruth Shipley Barrett, age 84, of Urbana, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at her home.

     She was born April 1, 1933, in Flora, the daughter of the late George and Alice (Clark) Shipley.  She married Robert Barrett Sr. in 1956.  He preceded her in death May 14, 2014.

     Imogene will be remembered for living a Christ-focused life, and her love of family.  She enjoyed being outside and tending to flowers and plants.  She worked in cosmetics at Robeson’s and Bergner’s.  She was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed bible study.

     She is survived by 1 son: Robert Barrett of Urbana; 2 grandsons: Joshua Rowe and Benjamin Rowe; 1 granddaughter: Brandi Barrett; and 2 sisters: Betty Hamilton and Mary Noblitt.  She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Kandi Rowe; 2 brothers; and 5 sisters.

     A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, where interment will follow.  Those attending should meet at the cemetery.  Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora is assisting the family with arrangements.  To share a condolence, visit www.frankandbright.com.
