Elmo A. Kebodeaux, age 81, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, February 20, 2018, at Clay County Hospital.
He was born February 8, 1937, in Crowley, Louisiana, the son of Fred and Vida Kebodeaux. He married JoAnn Toombs, sharing over 34 years of marriage together.
Elmo enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a sales representative for Beltone Hearing Aid Service, and was a past member of the Teamsters.
Elmo is survived by his wife: JoAnn Kebodeaux; daughter: Terri Hopkins; daughter: Joyce Scott; daughter: Susan Kebodeaux; daughter: Autumn Bennett and her son; daughter: Robin Will; son: Charles Bennett, son: David Bennett; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jesse and Toby Kebodeaux; and a sister: Florence Franks. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Donna Dammrich; an infant child; and 2 brothers.

Elmo was so unique . The spark he brought to our family will always be missed. He was so out spoken, possibly blunt. One always knew what his opinion was. Aunt JoAnn , the love you shared was inspiring. You and Elmo were proof that Love overcomes everything. My heart aches for all of his family. You are in my thoughts, I love you all.

Joanne and family: What does one say about Elmo? He was a caring, talker, never saw a stranger, always willing to help if he could, just an all around guy. Always would try to get one to smile. He will be missed by so many. Prayers for all.

JoANN so sorry for your loss. I have so enjoyed visiting with the two of you over the past several years while staying at the motel. It was always so hard to come home and be so displaced! You and Elmo always made my visits as pleasant as possible! You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Elmo was one of my favorite people. I loved him like a brother, and he will be missed greatly. It's going to be so difficult to have him not there when we visit. Love you Jo, and all your family...❤️
So sorry for your loss Jo Ann , Elmo would always to make sure at work to stop and talk to me and ask me how are you today even though he was not feeling his best! Will miss him.
