Clifford H. Harrell, age 90, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, August 2, 2018, at his home.
He was born October 10, 1927, in Rinard, the son of Burl Howard and Margaret Angeline (Evans) Harrell. He married Nellie Mae Halterman on July 3, 1947 in Henderson, Kentucky. She preceded him in death January 4, 2004.
Clifford served in the U.S. Army. He farmed and raised cattle, was an avid coon hunter, and later took up fox hunting. He enjoyed his morning stops at Moore’s in Xenia and the local coffee shops. Clifford had a good sense of humor, enjoyed making mischief from time to time with family and friends, and enjoyed doing puzzles.
He is survived by one son: Joe (Pam) Harrell of Flora; two daughters: Christine (John) Harrington and Linda Judd both of Flora; 7 grandchildren: Heath Harrell of Flora, Andrew (Rebecca) Harrell of Carterville, Chad (Ashley) Harrell of Xenia; John Harrington Jr. of Flora, Anthony (Laura) Harrington of Flora; Kelly Judd, and Andrew (Kerri) Judd of Oklahoma City, OK; 12 great-grandchildren: Angie, Christopher, and Nick Judd, Tyler and Brent Craft, Brittany Satterila; James, Megan, Amelia, Elijah, Corbin, and Colton Harrell; siblings: JoAnn (Marvin) McCann of Flora, Edward (Wanda) Harrell of Flora, and Darrell (Betty) Harrell of Xenia. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Margie Ellen, sister, Barbara McGrew-Young, brothers, Donald Harrell, Burl Harrell Jr., infant brother; and a son-in-law, Jerry Judd.
A funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday August 5, 2018, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Mike LeMay officiating. Burial will follow in Onstott Cemetery, Xenia, with the presentation of military honors. Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home.

Rest in peace "Cuz"....we were very distantly related somehow, but we always called each other Cuz for years! Clifford was one of the best guys I've ever known. I shall miss him. Prayers for the family.
