Dennis Coggin, age 70 years, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, July 26, 2018, at the Burge House in Flora.

He was born August 18, 1947, in Flora, the son of Kenneth Russell and Jeanine (Smith) Coggin. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Gaines at Trinity Methodist Church in Flora on September 7, 1964.

Dennis worked at a local sawmill and various other factories in the area during his life. He attended New Hope Pentecostal Church in Flora. He loved spending time at home and enjoyed being outside feeding the birds and wildlife, and also walking the track with his wife when he was able.

He is survived by his wife: Jeanette Coggin of Flora; two daughters: Krystal (Darin) Dunnigan of Flora, and Stacia (Mike) Mulvaney of Watson; three brothers: Larry Coggin of Flora, Mike (Lulu) Coggin of Oregon, and John (Cindy) Hower of Salem; three grandchildren: Jarin (Ashley) Dunnigan of Carterville, Janae Dunnigan of Marion, and Alivia Coggin of Watson; and two great-grandchildren: Jazlyn and Isaac. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather: John Hower; an infant sister: Brenda Coggin; and a brother: Keith Coggin.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Powers Cemetery in Xenia. Pastor Jeff Hough will officiate. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery.
