Kenny was my assistant coach in 5th grade basketball (and beyond.) He was gentle, patient and always took the time to mentor me. He sticks out in my mind as a person who really cared and gave back to kids in the community. I've always been grateful for his guidance. I'm sad to hear of his passing and I want to send love to all his family and friends.
So sorry for your loss. Being out of town, I just heard of Kenny's passing. Your family was like a second family to me since I spent a lot of time there growing up. My prayers are with all of you.
To the Myers family. So sorry for your loss. We will be thinking of you all. Cherish all the great memories.
I will never forget Dad and "Kenny Leo" together. Not only were they brothers, but they were the best of friends. I have so many memories of them coming in to clean their catches from hunting, fishing, mushrooming, or whatever just to get out together. They would come back laughing and fussing with each other about who got the most and who did better. Always together and always having a big time. I can only pray that they are back together again and can just see the huge smile on their faces as dad shows him all the "good" places he has found up there. I will never forget how Uncle Kenny stepped in for dad when I graduated nursing school. He knew that I was so sad because dad couldnt be there. Rest easy Uncle Kenny and give dad a big hug from me and let him know we are all fine but still miss him every day. I will always remember your smile and will always cherish all the memories you left us.

Most of us who worked around our beloved Flora Depot in the late forties, fifties and sixties called him "HUNK" Myers, joking and lovely of course. This writer had the pleasure and honor of working with "Hunk" several years as a telegrapher, and in fact, called each other "Kissin Cuzzins" since his wife; Evelyn's brother Gerald, married my cousin, Pat Buckingham. One day long ago the Pennsylvania RR had a big wreck on their line and were detouring on our B&O line from E StLouis to Cincinnati. On that day also, "Uncle Buck" (Clarence Buckingham) was engineering the west local, coming home to Flora. "Hunk" and I had been called out to work as dispatchers. It so happened that "Uncle Buck" was in a hurry to get home to attend some kind of family function. So KLM & BEE allowed the local to slowly run ahead of the PRR's crack passenger train all the way from Odin to Flora. Uncle Buck made it to the function okay. Both of us were reprimanded for the PRR delay. My last communication with Kenny was at the October Flora parade in 2010. We sat together on the wagon "swapping lies" and telling railroad stories. My heart and prayers go out for the Myers family and am sure that Kenny heard those beautiful words: "Well done, thy good and faithful servant, enter in to MY house." Farewell old friend. Hooprag

To Kenny’s Family: Your Dad was a good friend who will be missed. I admired many things about him but the one that stands out most was the love he had for your mother and each of you. His family was his life and it showed. I have many fun memories of him. Especially I remember the time he went with our group from work to the St. Louis Cardinals game when McGwire and Sosa were battling to set a new home run record. He had the best time and afterwards we went to Lotawata Creek to eat. He talked about the bucket of onion rings for a long time 😊 He always had his beautiful smile that he shared with everyone. I loved your dad. My heart aches for each of you during this difficult time. You are all in our prayers. He will be missed. RIP Kenny❣️
To the family may the God of all comfort give you peace at this difficult time. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4
