Roger L. Strange, age 57, of Flora, IL passed away at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.

Roger was born February 28, 1956 to Jack and Darlene (Johnson) Strange. He married Vickie L. Ruger on August 3, 1974 in Clay County. Roger worked for Halliburton for over 24 years and for Reliable Oil Field Services beginning in 2005. He was recently a new member of the Harter Township Cemetery Board and was of the Baptist faith. Roger was fully devoted to his family and taking pride in working. He appreciated every opportunity to work on something to stay busy, especially if it was outdoors. Riding his motorcycle and camping were things that he loved taking time to do.

He is survived by his wife: Vickie Strange of Flora; father: Jack Strange of Loveland, CO; mother: Darlene Davis (Gary) of Salem; 2 sons: Jason Strange (Andrea) of Olney and Major Strange of Flora; granddaughter: Kayle Harmon-Strange; grandson: Ryan Strange; siblings: Jay Strange of Salem, Jeanette Nichols (Rick) of Wentzville, MO, Sandra Strange of Salem; step-siblings: Gary Davis, Jerrod Davis, Tawny Davis; half-siblings: Dan Whisler, Carol Craig. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The funeral service for Roger Strange will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m. on Sunday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Fund for the Grandchildren’s Future Education.
