A private family memorial service will be held at a later date, with interment in Old Union Cemetery.
Sherman Eugene “Gene” Frazier, age 75, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Sunday January 27, 2019, at his home.
He was born February 24, 1943, in Hord, the son of Lawrence Sherman and Edna (Fender) Frazier. He married Carolyn Mullins on July 20, 1979, in Effingham and together they have shared 39 years of marriage.
Gene worked in construction and farmed throughout his life. He was a member of Bethsaida Christian Church, Edgewood Masonic Lodge, and Laborer’s Local #1197.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Frazier of Louisville; children: Donald Gene (Elaine) Frazier of Louisville, Ronald Dean (Mary) Frazier of Louisville, Angela S. (Chip) Townsend of Effingham, Amanda Marie (Christopher) Prince of Effingham, and Emily Jane Skipworth of Mattoon; two brothers: Richard Frazier of Nokomis and Luther “Dick” (Peg) Fender of Louisville; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter: Theresa L. Frazier.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial donations are suggested to Bethsaida Christian Church Youth Program and will be accepted through the funeral home.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Gene was a special man and I know he will be missed. May God comfort and bring peace to you all.

Gene was known by many people. He loved to talk and always had a story to tell me, whether it be about farming, family or just life in general. He made an impression on all who met him.
