Thea K Streight age 65, of Flora, Illinois entered into rest early in the morning Friday, February 15, 2019, at Aperion Care in Olney, Illinois. She was a long-time resident of Kemper, Illinois before moving to Flora in 2001. 

   She was born August 1, 1953 to Mary “Puz” Medford (nee Darr) and Gilbert Eldon Medford. Thea attended and graduated from Southwestern High School in Medora, Illinois in 1972. Shortly after graduation while working at Darr’s truck stop in Medora, Illinois she met, had a whirlwind romance and promptly married Charles Wayne Streight. They were united in marriage on June 10, 1972 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora. They were married for 39 years.

   Thea and Charles moved to Detroit, Michigan. From there they moved to Moline, Illinois to be closer to Chuck’s family. This is where they started their family. They had two sons before moving to the Houston area. Here they had their third son. Around 1985 they decided to move back to the Medora area to be closer to Thea’s family. Here is where they raised their 3 sons, started a family business, raised several horses and family dogs.  After all their sons were grown, they moved their family business to Johnsonville, Illinois. After they closed their business Thea went to college to earn a degree in medical transcription. Although she wasn’t able to complete her degree. Chuck traveled the US and Canada delivering travel trailers, and when possible, Thea would travel with him. One of her favorite things to do was travel the country with her husband. When she was blessed with grandchildren, they became the joys in her life. She loved them with all her heart and would brag on them every chance she got. 

   Thea held several jobs over the years including the bakery at the Jerseyville, Illinois Walmart, Secretary and book keeper for S&S Machining, Hella Electronics Corporation, and Party House. 

   She is survived by a son: Anthony “BJ” (Maria) Streight of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a son Shane (Katelyn) Streight of Ackley, Iowa; a son Christopher Streight of Flora, Illinois; 5 grandchildren Mersadez “Sadie” Streight of Lake Charles, Hudson Streight of Ackley, Caydin Streight of Heyworth, Illinois, Mallory (Daniel) Modro of Beaver Falls Pennsylvania, and Dylan Peterson of Houston, Texas; 2 great grandchildren April Fortner of Beaver Falls, and Danny Modro of Beaver Falls; a sister: Lynn Elam of Camdenton, Missouri; a sister Lorna (Kenny) Fester of Dow, Illinois; a brother Harold (Traci) Medford of Godfrey, Illinois; a brother George Medford of Brighton, Illinois; 8 nieces; 4 nephews; 26 great nieces and nephews; 1 great great nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Wayne Streight; her parents: Mary “Puz” Medford (nee Darr) and Gilbert Eldon Medford. 

   A celebration of life for Thea K. Streight will be held on March 2, 2019 at the Alton - Wood River Sportsman Club @ Trap House. The time will be from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be a light lunch served as well. Please join us to celebrate her life and memory. The place is located at 3109 Godfrey Rd. Godfrey, Illinois. 

   The family is asking that In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Frank & Bright funeral home to cover final expenses.
