What words can I find to say "Thanks" to my favorite aunt? For now, my tears of gratitude is the best way. Aunt Lucille always had a smile, a hug and a kiss for me throughout my life. She often made a good home cooked meal and a fantastically delicious blackberry pie for me when I visited. I was always welcome in her home and life. She showed great interest in my life and love to me always. Many times she did things for me that reminded me of the importance, value and strength of family. I always appreciated her and her role in my life. One of the great matriarchs of the Henson family now leaves us her legacy. It is me who has been richly blessed by my Aunt Lucille. I am grateful that our life journeys were in the same eternal time. Enjoy her, God. She will likely fix your hair and put makeup on you. Thank you, Aunt Lucille and your whole family. Mark Henson

Lucille, Sam, and Lorraine have always been special to me as a family relative and brother in the Gospel. Lots of fond memories at church, Flora High School and Henson family reunions @ Brush Creek Campgrounds. She knew everyone in FLORA & they knew her. Lucille has been a great cousin, as well as Sammy, Russell, Celia, & Mike. My dad ,Floyd, and Lucille were very close as 1st cousins. Thank the Lord for Lucille.
I will always remember the hospitality of Lucille and her welcoming friends in her home. She was the perfect hostess...always ready for a get-together which she often had with our old "gang of friends". Up until the past couple of years she always wanted the gathering of friend and families to share her front yard...and kitchen as well...to watch the Halloween parade, and numerous other occasions also. And Sam, you shared in that goodness too! Thank you. Miss you Lucille.
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you all. Lucille was a very beautiful woman inside and out. I started going to Lucille when I was 15 years old up until she sold her business. She taught me and so many other young women in our small town the beauty of a woman, not only on the outside but on the inside. I really enjoyed our talks. Mostly when we would talk of our family. She would always ask how my kids were doing and she always got a kick out of Jay when he would go pick up my make-up or if he would just go in and get something for me for no reason. Said not to many men do that. That he was one of a kind. I will always keep her in my heart.
To the Anderson Family: I was so sorry to learn about the passing of your dear Loved One and my sister in Christ. May God bless each one of you during this time of your grief and always. I know that all of you will miss her greatly but we know that she has been called to a better place where there is no more pain and suffering. Remember all the good times that you had together with her as the memories are so special. We know that she was welcomed home with a lot of loved ones waiting for her. Take good care of each other. I am Marilyn (Shehorn) Tarbutton and when I lived back in Illinois I went to church at Poplar creek church, Zenith and Flora once in awhile so I remember Lucille and Sam I now live out in California where I have been since 1973. Love to all with my deepest sympathy, Marilyn
I have admired Lucille all my life. I always enjoyed going in to the studio for makeup, whenever i was in town. She taught me how to wear it. And was always there for me whenever i had a special event ,and had to look my best. She was special to me. I will truely miss her.
Our cousin Lucille was quite a classy person. Her hospitality and servitude could not be exceeded. Now Sam and family continue that rich legacy.
Lucille was a sweet, classy and kind lady. She first taught me how to properly do my make up when I was a contestant in the Louisville Fall Festival Queen contest many years ago. I continued to buy make up from her little boutique in Flora thereafter. She always had a smile and a beauty tip to share. She will be missed.
