Visitation: 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home
Interment: Elmwood Cemetery
Warren Paul Rose, age 99, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday morning, November 4, 2019, at The Burge House in Flora.
He was born October 30, 1920, in Flora, the son of Arthur W. and Pearl (Terrill) Rose. He was united in marriage to Mildred “Millie” L. Barbee and they shared 67 wedding anniversaries until her death May 8, 2007.
Paul proudly served in the Army during World War II. During his service he earned several decorations and medals including the WWII Victory Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and 2 Overseas Service Bars. He worked as a dairy salesman for Flora Pure Milk Co. before becoming an officer for the Flora Police Department where he later worked as a dispatcher. He was of the Christian faith and avidly enjoyed studying his bible and also took pride in his annual gardening.
He is survived by 2 sons: Paul R. (JoAnn) Rose of Flora and Kenneth “Biff” (Pam) Rose of Osteen, FL; 1 daughter: Jennifer Perry of Xenia; 4 grandchildren: Rae Ann (Tim) Oestreich of Louisville, Julie (Matt) Coale of Joelton, TN, Chris (Dee) Rose of Wolf Lake, and Justin Perry of Edmond, OK; 10 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son-in-law: Jim Perry; siblings: Amelia Tygett, Art Rose, Dorothy List, Kenneth Rose, and Nola Stapinski.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Dave Starr officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the local chapter of the D.A.V. or to any charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted through the funeral home.

Biff and Pam, I am sorry for your loss. I visited with your dad when he was at the Flora Gardens Nursing Center, in January,2018 when our son was also there. Your Dad looked so good and was so friendly to talk too. Our son was only there about six weeks before he passed away from lung cancer, but I visited another lady there after that. I didn't know your dad had moved to Burge House , He certainly had a long memorable life.Great for all of you!!!!!!

So sorry to hear this. I worked with Paul at the Flora PD and he was a great example to follow. He was a Christian and everyone who knew Paul will miss him greatly. Love you, Paul, may you rest in peace.
