George Nelson Weidner, age 60, of Louisville, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his home in Louisville.

He was born July 1, 1952 in Flora, IL to George L. and Bernette (Phillips) Weidner. He married Nancy Pierson on September 29, 1972 in Hoosier Prairie. Nelson was retired from family farming and enjoyed mushroom hunting and finding an opportunity to fish. He was a member of Flora Sons of American Legion and the VFW. Nelson will be remembered for his friendships and the times he enjoyed with family.

He is survived by a daughter: Amanda Lynn Weidner of Louisville; a son: George Matthew Weidner of Louisville; a brother: Neil (Shannon) Weidner of Louisville; 3 sisters: Rita Weidner of Louisville, Marsha Blair of Xenia, Cathi (Rick) Bailey of Louisville; along with special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew (Donald Blair).

The funeral service for Nelson Weidner will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
