A private graveside service will be held at Powers Cemetery, Xenia.
Christina Jean Smith, age 51, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Sunday morning, April 19, 2020, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born May 2, 1968, in Fort Benning, Georgia, the daughter of Robert and Ida M. (Young) Rado.
Chris also known affectionately as “Sissy,” loved her family very much and dedicated herself to raising Chandler. Faith and church were very important in her life and she loved reading the Bible and sharing the word of God with others whenever she had the opportunity. She had lived in several states throughout her life and especially enjoyed driving and going on road trips.
She is survived by a son: Chandler Smith of Charleston; 3 daughters: Kelsey Mette, Nikki Dust, and Rachel Case; mother: Ida M. Rado of Louisville; sister: Bobbie A. Kamboures (Aaron D. Bentley) of Flora; brother: Scott R. Rado of Louisville; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father: Robert Rado; brother: Vernon “Butch” Rado; maternal grandparents: Carol Eugene and Martha Alice Young; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private graveside service will be held at Powers Cemetery, Xenia. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Christina was a childhood friend of mine and we shared many fond memories. Hangouts, cook outside and sleep over s. It seemed our families were intertwined and I loved her as a sister. My heart goes out to Ida, Chandler, Scott and Bobbie . There are no words I can find to convey my sorrow.

Oh how I’m gonna miss that beautiful smile and laugh. You were always so sweet and loving. You treated me like a daughter.
