Betty Rose Greenwood, age 87, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday evening, April 26, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Betty loved all her family and especially cherished the moments she shared with her grandchildren. She was always interested in keeping up with their sporting activities. She looked forward to working in her flower beds and had a great fondness for her roses. She loved country music and often reflected on her warm memories of dancing at the Flora Hub. On weekends you could often find her and Ranard enjoying the outdoors while staying at their cabin on Trago Lake. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband: Ranard Greenwood of Flora; 5 children: Tom (Pat) Greenwood of Xenia, Danny (Debbie) Greenwood of Flora, Debbie (Matt) Kuenstler of Louisville, Marty Greenwood (Gena Block) of Flora, and Rodney Greenwood of Flora; 38 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson: Nick Compton; a granddaughter: Ashley Ames; 3 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; 5 brothers: Joe, Ben, Roy, Frank, and Otis Williams; and 2 sisters: Lillie and Flossie Kneff.

This is hard to write because Betty was like a second mother to me. She helped me learn so many things about being a wife and a mother. She always had a sweet, patient way and made the best out of every situation. From keeping a spotless house to making the best no-lump gravy, she was the supreme homemaker! And she always tended to her family with just as much attention enthusiasm! I pray that you all will find comfort knowing that she is at rest now and enjoying her heavenly reward.
Praying for the family. So sorry to hear.
Aunt Betty, I will always remember you and your beautiful soul. Heaven gained an Angel......I will miss you and am praying for the family.🙏❤
Aunt Betty was such a sweet and classy lady. She brightened every room with her smile and pleasant demeanor. Her laughter at some of Uncle Ranard’s silliness was genuine and showed that she had a true kind heart. Glad I got to visit them right before the lockdown. Ranard brought out Betty’s high school picture and showed me that day. He adored her so much after 71 years of true love and marriage. Love to all my cousins that called her Mom or Grandma. And of course love to Uncle Ranard. God be with you all.
