Tracy Lynn Thompson, age 46, of Edgewood, Illinois, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 3, 2020, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born October 15, 1973, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Gloyd O. and Sheila Sue (Workman) Shipley. She was united in marriage to George Edward Thompson Jr. on May 7, 2005, in Flora, and together they have shared almost 15 years of marriage.
Tracy was a CNA and, in the past, had worked for Clay County Hospital, Flora Rehabilitation & Care Center, and Twin Willows Nursing Center. She enjoyed the outdoors and camping, trips to the St. Louis Zoo and St. Louis Science Center, and crafts and photography. She had a love for animals, especially her beloved dog Star Beth. Family was very important to Tracy and she cherished her time spent with them.
She is survived by her husband: George Thompson Jr. of Edgewood; a brother: Gloyd “Bubby” D. (Andrea) Shipley of Salem; a sister: Angela Shipley of Edgewood, a niece: Elizabeth Mesnard; nephews: Triston and Micheal Mesnard, Rodney Cassidy, and Daniel, Charlie, Johnathan, and Scott Crain; stepmother: Doris Shipley; and several great nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Sheila Shipley; father: Gloyd O. Shipley; father-in-law: George Thompson Sr.; mother-in-law: Betty (Black) Thompson; and a nephew: Dusty Cassidy.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora assisted the family with arrangements. We sure had fun when we were growing up. You will be missed. I know we lost touch for alot of years I'm sorry that we didn't hang out. Love you cousin. RIP

I’m so saddened to hear about the passing of Tracy. She was in my class in school and I remember she was such a sweet and such a quiet girl. My condolences to her family. May God wrap his arms around each and every person who knew and loved her.
I remember working a lot of late night hours with her at Flora Care Center. She always was close to her family and talked about them all the time. I remember when she got marr I ed and how happy she was. She was a very good CNA and a very good person. Rest in peace, my friend.
