Memorial Ceremony: 3 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora
Visitation: 2 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home
Private interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
Edna M. Kruse, age 89, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday morning, July 12, 2020, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
She was born March 15, 1931, in Hugoton, Kansas, the daughter of Glen and Lena (Brown) Hamby. She was united in marriage to Merle Kruse on May 25, 1951, in Cody, Wyoming, and together they shared 60 years of marriage until his death December 10, 2011.
Edna worked at the shoe factory and helped Merle in the office at their business, United Water Blasters. She was a member of the Clay County Hospital Auxiliary and was an avid crocheter. Over the years she enjoyed traveling the country with Merle in their motorhome, and often reminisced about their winters spent in Texas and many summers in Branson. Edna enjoyed time spent with her grandkids camping and visiting Branson and cherished all the memories they had made over the years.
She is survived by her daughter: Sandy (Terry) Frost of Louisville; daughter-in-law: Donna Kruse of Cameron, MO; 4 grandchildren: Matt (Dena) Kruse of Highland, Adam Kruse of Cameron, MO, Andy (Jerri) Frost of Flora, and Leslie (Damien) Bowling of Flora; 10 great-grandchildren: Shelby, Jacob, Jarrett, Miranda, and Phebe Kruse, Karleigh and Mollie Frost, and Emery, Drew, and Casey Bowling; and siblings: Gene Hamby, Sue Roberts, and Terry Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Merle Kruse; 3 sons: John, Michael, and David Kruse; and siblings: Frances Curtis, Bonnie Black, and Patsy Price.
A Memorial Ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with Rusty Courson officiating. Private interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Meals on Wheels and will be accepted through the funeral home. Edna was such an influence on my life when I worked for her from 1980-1990. She was a very strong, no nonsense woman, and I will always cherish the memories of the time we spent together both at work and away from work. So sorry for your loss Sandy and family.

I was blessed to meet Edna through the Clay County Hospital Auxiliary. What a lovely lady! Enjoyed talking to her and she always had a smile at the front desk and was such an asset to the auxiliary/hospital. Prayers to the family. Vickie Simpson/Secretary CCH Auxiliary
i lift the Kruse family and friends up in prayer, I will always cherish the WaterBlaster days, working for Meryl and Edna John and David, i will always remember Edna's huge smile she had on her face when we spoke as well as Meryl's big grin.. @ people i really loved working for...
