Susan A. Lake, age 65, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon, July 13, 2020, at Clay County Hospital.

   She was born October 13, 1954, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of O. Neal Hilderbrand and Carole Marie (Shroyer) Rinehart.

   Susan enjoyed playing cards, sewing, cooking, and loved a good cup of coffee.  She will be remembered by all who knew her as a sweet and selfless woman.  Susan was a best friend to her daughters and was very proud of them and her grandkids.  

   She is survived by 2 daughters: Carole-Ann Lake-Embrey of Indiana and Sarah Elizabeth Lake (Michael Mannion) of Flora; 3 grandsons: Justin O. Embrey, Tyler M. Embrey, and Samuel W. Lake; mother and stepfather: Carole Marie and Carroll Rinehart of Mt. Pleasant, MI; siblings: Carla Fitzgerald of Flora, Pamela (Gary) Bible of Flora, Leonard (Tina) Hilderbrand, Tony (Trish) Hilderbrand, Donna (Mark) Griffin, Debbie (Roger) Simmer, and Tess (Kurt) Hartshorn all of Mt. Pleasant, MI; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

   She was preceded in death by her father and a brother: Neal Hilderbrand.
