Lee Pruitt

   Lee Everett Pruitt, age 77, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Wednesday evening, August 12, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

   He was born December 20, 1942, in Flora, the son of Arthur Galen and Bernice Evelyn (Benefield) Pruitt.

   Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping.  He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and listening to country music.  Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Sr., and Gordon Lightfoot were among his favorites.      

   He is survived by his siblings: Marilyn Jones of Clay City, Patty (Tom) Morris of Bridgeport, Janice (Scott) Colclasure of Flora, Delores (Richard) Schnepper of Clay City, James (Linda Sue) Pruitt of Clay City, Larry Pruitt of Clay City, Linda Curtis of Flora, and Sherry (Paul) Peeler of Xenia; and many nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Gene, Jerry, and Wayne Pruitt.

   A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Bunker Cemetery with Pastor Brad Harris officiating.  Visitation will be 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home.  In accordance with an Illinois mandate, face masks will be required, and social distancing is recommended.  To share a memory or condolence visit: www.frankandbright.com
