Sue Lewis, age 75, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday morning, August 26, 2020, at her home.
She was born November 22, 1944, in Clay County, the daughter of Herbert and Lois V. (Boose) McMillian. She was united in marriage to Gary Wayne Lewis on May 4, 1963, in Shawneetown and together they have shared 57 years of marriage.
Sue had worked for J & J Vendors and was a past member of Bloom Baptist Church. She enjoyed time spent camping and sitting around the campfire. She would often help cook at the Flora Coon Club and cherished time spent making memories with her family.
She is survived by her husband: Gary Lewis of Flora; children: Tim Lewis of Flora, Herbie (Annie) Lewis of Salem, Melinda (Jason) Miller of Flora, and Barbara Brown of Flora; 15 grandchildren: Chelsea (Robert) Henson, Dustin Lewis, Stephanie Lewis, Kyle Lewis, Tiffany (Christopher) Henley, Daniel Green, Paul Green, Josie Bell, Christopher Ferguson, Kirby Coble, Parker Coble, Heather (David) Gonzalez, Nick (Denise) Burkett, Gary Burkett, and Trey Miller; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son: Gary D. Lewis; siblings: Wanda Creek, Carl McMillian, Jack McMillian, and Harriett Kenley; and a son-in-law: Kelly Brown.
A funeral ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Monday August 31, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Bloom Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening, August 30, at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to HSHS Home Care & Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home.
