Lisa Jeanette Persinger, age 59, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon, October 12, 2020, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
She was born January 16, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of William Robert and Dorothy “Dot” Ruth (Massey) Humphrey. She was united in marriage to Stephen Ray Persinger on October 27, 1978, at the First United Methodist Church in Flora and together they have shared almost 42 wedding anniversaries.
Lisa earned her Associate’s Degree in nursing from Olney Central College and went on to work as a registered nurse at Clay County Medical Clinic and Flora Care Center. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Flora, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Beta Sigma Phi. Lisa enjoyed photography, cross-stitch, reading, and sitting outside with her dog, Charlotte.
She is survived by her husband: Steve Persinger of Flora; a daughter: Amanda “Mandi” (Brian) Robinson of Palm Harbor, FL; siblings: Julie (Scott) Welge and nieces Morgan and Cassidy Welge of Chapel Hill, NC, and William “Bill” (Tamara) Humphrey of Mt. Carmel; 2 brothers-in-law: Michael Persinger of Flora and Allen Persinger of Kawasaki, Japan; and close companion her dog, Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private family ceremony will be held with interment at Elmwood Cemetery. A public Celebration of Life ceremony for friends and family will be held at a later date and will be announced. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
