Eugene Eck

   Eugene “Gene” Carl Eck, age 90, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon, October 12, 2020, at his home.

   He was born May 11, 1930, in Otwell, Indiana, the son of John and Tinnie (Grossman) Eck.  He married Betty Young on February 22, 1973.

   Eugene moved to Xenia, Illinois, in 1957, to start his own farm.  He was a large pork producer and grain farmer.  Eugene was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Flora where he served as Head Trustee and Head Usher.  He also served as Songer Township Trustee.

   He is survived by his loving wife: Betty Eck; children: Rhonda, Elaine (Larry), Eugene H., and Beulah (Doug); and grandsons: Travis, Alex (Kelly), Nathan, and Dustyn (Kailey).

   A funeral ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Faith Lutheran Church in Flora.  Interment will follow in Floral Garden of Memories Cemetery.  Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.  Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Flora Faith Lutheran Church or Clay County Hospice and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a memory or condolence visit: www.frankandbright.com
