Sandra Kaye Hatcher, age 68, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Friday morning, December 11, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
She was born August 28, 1952, in Fairfield, Illinois, the daughter of James E. and Hollis M. (Fitch) Pennington. She was united in marriage to Orville Glen Hatcher on August 15, 1975, in Flora, Illinois, and together they shared 43 years of marriage until his death August 7, 2019.
Sandy had worked at area restaurants and for Kerns Manufacturing. She enjoyed reading, sewing, time spent with her grandkids, and talking with her sisters on the phone.
She is survived by 4 children: Phyllis (Dan) Kaufmann of Flora, Carrie Hatcher of Flora, Cathy Williams (Kyle Wheeler) of Flora, and Mary (Scott) Reynolds of Effingham; 8 grandchildren: Jarin Pearce, Andrew Pearce, MeKenzie Wheeler, Devin Williams, Jeremy Hagen, Thomas Lewis, Lexi Hatcher, and James McCracken; several great-grandchildren; sisters: Billa Broz of Louisville, Ruth (Dean) Barger of Enfield, and Carolyn (Justin) Lake of Oakland City, IN; and brothers: Ronnie Pennington of Effingham and Clifford Pennington of Enfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandparents; an infant daughter: Sandy; a brother: James E. Pennington; 2 sisters: Jewell Rutland and Ethel Stark; and 2 brothers-in-law: Kenneth Stark and Richard Broz.
