Feb 1st, 1954 - Jan 24th, 2021Jeffrey Carl Thoele, age 66, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Sunday morning, January 24, 2021, at his home.
He was born February 1, 1954, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Carl Henry “Duke” and Mary Celeste (Burford) Thoele. He was united in marriage to Debra Greenwood on December 17, 2009, in Newburgh, Indiana.
Jeff worked in the Press Department for the Effingham Daily News for 15 years and later worked for Quebecor Printing in Effingham until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time reading and bird watching.
He is survived by his wife: Debra Thoele of Flora; stepchildren: Jason Robinson and family, Eric Robinson and family, and Kristine Sampson and family; brothers: Brad of Effingham and Scott (Cindy) of Denton, TX; sisters: Vicki (Pat) Gaddis of Effingham, Kim (Ed) Taylor of Brownstown, and Jill (Jim) Parks of St. Charles; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: Charles & Anne Thoele and Joseph & Hilma Burford; nephew Jordan Thoele and niece Alishia Thoele
A graveside memorial ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021, at St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham, IL. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery. In accordance with an Illinois mandate, masks will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
