Kelvin Ray Winters, age 63, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, March 2, 2021, at his home.
He was born January 3, 1958, in Clay County, Illinois, the son of William “Bill” R. and Barbara (Cochran) Winters.
Kelvin had worked at Hella Electronics for over 30 years. He loved time spent hunting and fishing and was a past member of a motorcycle club that raised funds for helping people with medical expenses. Pit Bulls were his favorite dog, and after retirement he had hoped to establish a rescue for those needing a good home. Kelvin was faithful in helping care for his mother, and he will be remembered for his kind and generous heart.
He is survived by his brother: Tom (Yvonne) Winters of Flora; nieces: Sheila (Dan) Theobald, Sheryl (Darrin) Wolff, and Dericka Winters; nephew: Tevin (Melissa) Winters; special friends: Darrell (Karen) Eckelberry of Flora; their children: Justin (Chandra) Eckelberry, Megan (Jarrett) Helton, Jeffrey (Dakota) Eckelberry, Aaron Eckelberry, and Nicholas (Rebecca) Eckelberry, and all of their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial visitation gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to either CCARS (Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter) or Fur A Good Paws, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
