Guy E. Frost, age 83, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 1, 2021, at Salem Township Hospital.
He was born November 20, 1937, in Louisville, Illinois, the son of Dios and Ethel Belle (Callison) Frost.
Guy worked as a mechanic and heavy machinery operator, beginning his career working at Moritz. He later worked for Mautz and Oren in Effingham as a crane operator and head mechanic before returning to Moritz until his retirement. He enjoyed guns, time spent hunting, and tinkering. His daily routine started with breakfast at Grandma’s Kitchen where he enjoyed visiting with the regulars. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and his dog, Duchess, who was one of his favorite companions.
He is survived by his children: Lisa Harmon, Sandy (Darrin) Akin, Guyla (Tom) Sowers, Sherrie (Randy) Owens, Rita (Mike) Kessel, and David Frost; daughter-in-law: Debbie Oberlohr; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Vincent Eugene; a son-in-law: Brad Harmon; an infant sister; and four brothers: Leo, Robert, Richard Dale, and Harry “Bus” Frost.
A visitation will be held 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A graveside ceremony will follow at Golden Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with Lance Thackrey officiating.
