Randy Gale Oestreich, age 66, of Kinmundy, Illinois, passed away on December 17, 2021, in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born July 1, 1955, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Charles T. and Rose Mary (Felton) Oestreich. He married Janet Brown on September 2, 1978, at Brown Christian Church and she survives in Kinmundy.
Randy is survived by his wife of 43 years: Janet Oestreich; brothers: Steve (Carol) Oestreich and Tim (RaeAnn) Oestreich; sisters: Debby (David) Devore, Patty Loehr, Lori (Tim) VanDyke, and Angie (Kevin) Connell; mother-in-law: Betty Brown; brother-in-law: Steve (Hali) Brown; sisters-in-law: Dena (Bernie) Hoffmann and Debbie (Butch) Keen; and a host of nieces and nephews, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews, all whom he loved dearly and kept close to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Rose Mary Oestreich; an infant sister: Cheryl Lynn; a brother: Mark Oestreich; a great-nephew: Bryce Rinehart; maternal grandparents: John and Molly Felton; paternal grandparents: Charles and Clara Oestreich; father-in-law: Otis Brown; grandmother-in-law: Verna Brown; and special aunt by marriage: Lorene Morrow.
Randy was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in Nuremberg, Germany from 1972-1974, and was trained for Vietnam. He received multiple awards during his service, including the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and several badges.
He worked for Halliburton for 27 years and then BPI for 8 years before starting his own company, A-Strike Consulting. Randy devoted many years of his life to the Oil and Gas Industry. He later started another business A-Strike Trucking, which he devoted several of the last years of his life to.
Randy was a member of Brown Christian Church, Flora American Legion Post 14, Flora Elks Lodge, the Oil and Gas Association of Illinois, and was a trustee for Phillips Cemetery. He loved being a farmer and spending time working on the farm with his many friends. Most of all, Randy loved his family.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at Brown Christian Church in Kinmundy. Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery with the presentation of military funeral honors. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, and 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the church.
