Mickey Mantle Steward, age 60, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at his home.
He was born September 9, 1961, in Geneva, Illinois, the son of Billy and Juanita (Dunnigan) Steward. He had been married to Brenda Sue Johnson for 15 years.
Mickey had worked as a cement finisher throughout his life and was considered a hard worker. He will be remembered for the love he had for his grandkids, how he liked to spend time outside, and his faithful support of Donald Trump.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Tabitha Steward of Mt. Vernon, Cassidy Steward of Flora, and Brittany Steward of Woodlawn; 3 granddaughters: Lily, Abigail, and Madilyn; 1 grandson: Lukas; siblings: Stanley, Robin, Eddie, Mike (Cynthia), and Rebecca Steward; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Karen, Bruce, and Roger.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Needmore Christian Church west of Orchardville. Interment will follow in Powers Cemetery south of Xenia. Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service on Saturday at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home.
