Mike Warren

      Micheal “Mike” Logan Warren, age 80, of Xenia, and formerly of Flora, Illinois, peacefully passed away surrounded by his kids Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2022.

      He was born April 12, 1942, in Vandalia, the son of Xon and Anna Lucille (Logan) Warren.  He married Connie Sulsberger Kirby in 1960, and had three children: Mike, Marsha, and Michele.  Then, in 1987, he was blessed with his daughter, Mika.

      Mike was a graduate of Flora High School and for over 60 years worked as a barber in Flora.  Mike loved barbering and especially loved all of his customers who became like family to him.  He had never met a stranger and was one heck of a card player.  Mike’s card playing friends were like family to him.  He enjoyed watching movies, golfing, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying good food.  “Uncle” Mike always enjoyed a good joke, especially with his nieces, Cheri and Crystal, and great-nephew, J.  He loved spending time with his brother’s family.  He was of the Christian faith.

      He is survived by his children: Mikey (Lorna) Warren Jr. of Louisville, Marsha (David) Rudy of Flora, Shelly (Johnny) Zink of Louisville, and Mika (Ryan) Dowling of Joliet; grandchildren: Sara (Ben) Wochner, Nick Rudy, Bryan (Jennifer) Rudy, Jantzen (Hank) Borries, John Logan (Kaitlin) Zink, Jonah Zink, Cassandra Warren, Kya Warren (Michael), Connie Warren (Ezra), River Dowling, and Ridley Dowling; great-grandchildren: Carlie, Kate, Brady, Cam, Wesley, Ellarie , Vera, Jack, John Lucas, Josephine, Jordan, Rosalie, Kirra, and baby Lucy; a sister-in-law: Glendal Warren; and three nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; big brother: Jerry Warren; and great-niece: MaKenna Laurent.  

      A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Private interment will take place in Oskaloosa Cemetery.  Memorial donations are suggested to any charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
