Winnona Goff, age 77, of Flora, IL died at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, January 08, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Winnona was born April 26, 1935 to Sherman and Lorean (Brizius) McClure. She married Frederick L. Goff on January 6, 1951 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2003. She worked for Sparton Manufacturing for over 20 years, was a member of the First Christian Church in Flora and the Beau Knot Sunday School Class of the church, and she had many interests including crocheting, knitting, dolls, ceramics, cake decorating, but her favorite pastime was doing crafts and she tried many things over the years. Winnona’s greatest enjoyment was her grandkids and especially enjoyed attending their games.
She is survived by her children: John (Sonja) Goff of Knob Noster, MO, Deborah J. (Terry) Harnden of Winchester, TN, Lori (Monty) Shehorn of Flora; 8 grandchildren: Donnie, David, Seth, Jason, Celeste, Miles, Melanie, Blake; 12 great-grandchildren: Courtney, Amanda, Kristen, Jackson, Caydence, Sierra, Aiden, Amelia, Tristen, Levi, Caleb, Ezra; and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Jillian and McKinley. Several nieces and nephews also survive along with 2 step-sisters, Billie Colclasure and Sharon Cote, and 1 step-brother, Dean Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter (Diana Kay), and a brother (John McClure).
The funeral service for Winnona Goff will be held at 12 p.m. (Noon) on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Ben VanHyning officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to First Christian Church or Meals on Wheels and those donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
