Lucy Lee Cook, age 89, of Sherwood, Arkansas, and formerly of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday December 19, 2022, at Sherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Sherwood, Arkansas.
She was born April 29, 1933, in Bragg City, Missouri, the daughter of John L. and Mamie (Whitworth) Hale. She was united in marriage to Billy Joe Cook on July 13, 1973, in Jonesboro, Arkansas and together they shared 25 wedding anniversaries until his death February 10, 1999.
She is survived by a son: Carl (Diane) Taylor of Sherwood, Arkansas; daughter-in-law: Theresa Taylor of Clay City; stepson: John (Sandy) Cook; stepdaughter: Penny (Kevin) Baity; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: James Taylor; infant son: Ronnie Lee Taylor; 4 brothers: Ray, John Lee, Thomas Eugene, and Charles Hale; and 4 sisters: Christine Lancaster, Louise Wallett, Irma Loughary, and Catherine Smith; and an infant sister: Geneva Hale.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Clay City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
