Jane Ann Knapp, age 87, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday night, January 1, 2023, at her home.
She was born February 26, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Noah Bryan and Mary Elizabeth (Masden) Johnston. She was united in marriage to Bill Knapp on June 20, 1954, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, and together they shared 58 wedding anniversaries until his death August 29, 2012.
Jane was a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, playing the piano, and reading. A member locally of the Flora Community of Christ Church, she was active over the years as a District Women’s Leader and through serving as an Evangelist in the Priesthood. She was a representative for Outreach International and her support of the Brush Creek Youth Camp Community spanned many decades.
She is survived by her children: Charles Bryan (Kay) Knapp of Xenia, Elizabeth Ann (Rick) Forth of Xenia, and Paul Andrew (Linda) Knapp of Xenia; grandchildren: Bryan (Ashley) Knapp of Louisville, Cami (Adam) Cochran of Nashville, Tennessee, Nick (Taylor) Knapp of Marion, Hannah (Logan) Erbacher of Flora, Adam (Kendal) Forth of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee, Andrew (Emma) Forth of Xenia, Allison (Tyler) Price of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Anna (Joe) Mickelson of Lamoni, Iowa, Abe (Katelynn) Forth of Nashville, Kate (Mitch) Fairley of Quincy, Andrea (Aaron) Hill of Canton, Missouri, Paul (Natalie) Knapp of Marion, and Ben Knapp of Los Angeles, California; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son: William Johnston Knapp; and a great-granddaughter: Carly Elizabeth Knapp.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Flora Community of Christ Church with Mike Knapp officiating. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
