Mary Maxine Martin, age 81, of Flora, Illinois, died at 4:20 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Clay County Hospital in Flora.
She was born on November 11, 1931 in Flora to James and Georgia (McClure) Coble. She married Harold N. “Abe” Martin on September 20, 1957 in Champaign, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2000.
Maxine was a caring wife and mother and had worked for Clay County Rehab and Sparton Manufacturing. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening, especially caring for her flowers. She was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by 4 sons: Dennis Martin (wife Tammy) of Clay City, Barry Martin (wife Colleen) of Lakeland, FL, Kevin Martin (wife Gena) of Flora, and Tony Martin of Flora; 2 daughters: Linda Graham of Shingletown, CA, and Deanna Rinedollar (Greg) of Flora; a brother: Darrell Coble (wife Vi) of Florissant, MO; 2 sisters-in-law: Kay Coble of Flora and Loretta Martin of Beardstown; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Edward Martin; 2 brothers, Richard Coble and Jim Coble; and 2 sisters, Shirley Coble and Norma Jean Eaves.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Powers Cemetery in Xenia with Pastor Brad Harris officiating. There will be no visitation. The Frank & Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Clay County Hospice or the Clay County Diabetes Program.
