Bradley James Schutt, 73, of Xenia, (formerly of Rockford) Illinois, passed away the morning of March 13, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon, Illinois, after a brief illness.
Born October 22, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois, son of Alfred F. and Chlora L. (Schuneman) Schutt. Graduated from Harlem High School in 1967. Former owner of Schutt Engineering Service and Ability Tool Company. He was a journeyman tool and die maker and an instructor for the tool and die apprenticeship program. He was proud of his work, often bringing home progressive die stamping parts to show his family. A Bears fan until the end, he loved watching them, even when they lost. Being outdoors, working in the yard, and gardening were a few of his favorite activities. He enjoyed hosting family parties, including his huge 4th of July party, always wanting to make sure everyone was having a good time.
Survivors include his daughters with Bonnie Schutt: Lisa (Brant) Augensen, Melissa “Missy” Schutt, and Erin Schutt; granddaughters Chelsey (Mike) Andrews and Ashley (Ryan) Schelin, great-grandchildren, Hudson and Alana; sister, Bonnie (James) Crowley, many nieces and nephews, special friend, Judy DeShazo, and his cat, Bill. Special thank you to nephew, Jimmy Crowley, for always looking out for Brad.
Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Vivian Wanstrom and Phyllis Chabucos; brothers, Alan Schutt and William (Bill) Schutt; niece, Teresa Crowley, and nephew, David Crowley; and his favorite dog, Nala.
