May 20th, 1923 - Sep 1st, 2013Lorene H. Williams, age 90, of Flora, IL passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.
Lorene was born May 20, 1923 in Clay County, IL to Lloyd “Jack” and Eva (Thompson) Strange. She married Otis “Toadie” Williams on June 20, 1940 in Clay County. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1985. She later married Veston “Dick” Dalton who preceded her in death in 2008. Lorraine supported her husband and family on the farm with her cooking and care of the home. She enjoyed various outdoor activities like fishing and horse riding. Lorraine also planned the families getting together at their home for playing music and enjoyed writing lyrics for songs. She was a member of Bloom Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Gene (friend Karen) Williams, James (wife Karen) Williams, Herb (wife Teresa) Williams, and Barbara Williams all of Flora; brothers and sisters: Bernice Denton of Flora, Judy (husband Ken) McPherson of Lufkin, TX, Joyce (husband Herb) Hall of Kinmundy, Jack Strange of Loveland, CO, and Von (wife Kay) Strange of Flora; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 1 step-grandchild, 5 step-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a grandson (Wayne Williams), and 3 sisters (Josephine Williams, Dorothy Strange, and Donna Brown).
The funeral service for Lorene Williams will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Bunker Cemetery, Rinard. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to that of the donor’s choice.
