Bob Koehler
Apr 6th, 1944 - Nov 14th, 2023Robert Lee Koehler, age 79, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, November 14, 2023, at his home.
He was born April 6, 1944, in Clay City, the son of Robert F. and Rosie L. (Brown) Koehler. He was united in marriage to Lynda Kay Eskew on May 1, 1965, and together they shared 55 wedding anniversaries until her passing on May 14, 2020.
Bob was an electrician for 25 years and owned and operated L & R Electrical. He later worked for IBEW 124 out of Kansas City, retiring after 10 years. He had also driven a truck for several area trucking companies over the years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his children: Robin (Phillip) Corry of Flora, Robert Koehler II of Flora, Terrie (Bob) Coble of Oklahoma, Jerrie (Jeff) Haynes of Ingraham, and Sherrie (Gary) Kittle of Clay City; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 step-brothers: Ronald E. (Sue) Hamilton of Effingham and Steven E. (Janet) Hamilton of Newburgh, Indiana; a half-brother: John (Chris) Koehler of Lafayette, Indiana; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a granddaughter: Andrea Weiler; and a stepbrother: Terrence “Terry” L. Hamilton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday evening, November 20, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A committal ceremony will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, where interment will follow.
