Jun 8th, 1927 - Dec 4th, 2023Beulah L. Winchester, age 96, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
She was born June 8, 1927, in Iola, the daughter of Argel and Violet (Edwards) Murry. She was united in marriage to Lawrence L. “Tony” Winchester on January 25, 1946, in Flora, and together they shared 56 wedding anniversaries until his death on September 7, 2002.
Beulah retired from Western Electric in Montgomery, Illinois. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Flora. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and an excellent cook.
She is survived by 1 son: Lawrence (Betty) Winchester Jr. of Atlanta, Texas; 6 daughters: Patsy Blocker of Apache Junction, Arizona, Janet Wilkey of Bluford, Shirley (Albert) Wood of Mt. Vernon, Toni (Joe) Lambert of Shorewood, Wanda (David) Bernard of Joliet, and Mary Winchester of Cameron, Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Larry (Mary) Murry of Edgewood and Jerry (Pat) Murry of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; a great-grandchild; and 2 sons-in-law: David Blocker and Ronald Wilkey.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Residential Hospice, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
