Allen Walker
Apr 7th, 1961 - Jul 31st, 2024Allen Louis Walker, age 63, of Louisville, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024.
He was born on April 7, 1961, the son of John and Mardel (Keller) Walker in Effingham, Illinois. Allen was united in marriage with Nancy Crouse at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shumway, Illinois on August 30, 1980.
He graduated from Effingham High School in 1979 and began working at Illinois Central Railroad. He recently retired from North American Lighting. Allen was a member of Christ’s Church in Flora and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed being outdoors for events like Prairie Days, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Allen leaves behind his wife Nancy Walker of Louisville; 2 children: Jennifer Smith of Mahomet and Denise (Doug) Phillips of Louisville; and 8 grandchildren Alannah, Autumn, Eliza, Brooklyn, Walker, Madi, Noelle, and Tyson. He is also survived by his sisters, Janice (Earl) Thacker and Pamela (Kenneth) Bergfeld, stepbrothers, Tom (Donna) Rieman, Bob (Glenda) Rieman, Dan (Karen) Rieman, Tim (Pam) Rieman, and Lenny Rieman, as well as Helen Walker (stepmother), Richard Hembree (father-in-law), and brothers-in-law, Jim (Brenda) Crouse and Delbert Crouse.
He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Janette Hembree.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Andrew Bloemker and Caleb Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
