Pat Beardsley

      Patricia “Pat” Mae Beardsley, age 78, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday morning, September 25, 2024, at Flora Gardens Care Center.

      She was born December 20, 1945, in Flora, the daughter of Hancle and Golda (Swisher) Dunahee.  She married the love of her life George F. Beardsley on December 20, 1986, in Flora, and together they have shared 37 wedding anniversaries.

      Pat had worked as a beautician in the past and was a DSP and CNA at Prairie Estates.  As a nature lover she always looked forward to time spent camping, traveling to see different places, and over the years had especially enjoyed visiting Kentucky Lake.  Pat’s family was the most important part of her life, and she loved cooking and hosting meals for them, especially at Christmas and Thanksgiving.  She will be remembered for the love that she had for everyone.    

      She is survived by her beloved husband: George Beardsley of Flora; 2 sons: Brian Tackitt and Lonnie Tackitt, both of Flora; bonus daughter: Tiffany Dulaney of Xenia; grandchildren: Tyler Tackitt of Flora, Logan (Alycia) Tackitt of Flora, Braxton (Kaylie) Tackitt of Xenia, Bryce Tackitt of Xenia, and Emilee Tackitt; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law: Barbara Bernardi of Lawrenceville, Betty Blackwell of Newton, and Margaret Beardsley of Harrison, Ohio; brother-in-law: Lester Beardsley of Harrison, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant grandson: Kaidon Skylar Tackitt; 3 sisters: Marcella Schofield, JoAnne Miller, and Doris Hilliard; and a brother: Morris Dunahee.

      A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Interment will follow in Floral Garden of Memories Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
